Lights, Camera, Action!!

Chances are, in your lifetime, you have watched a countless number of films. But have you ever really thought about how these films were made? Movie directors have a lot to plan out and think about when they are making a film, and what ends up on the screen for viewers to see and hear is very seldom the product of any sort of accidental process.

In this unit, we will be studying the various ways in which films are put together, from camera positions and angles, to lighting, sound and costumes. We will then look at a particular movie, called Witness, and examine how these sorts of techniques have been used in a key scene from that film.

So, get comfortable, have your popcorn at the ready, and be prepared to be taken away into the world of film as we embark on this very exciting unit!
